A look inside both rooms

The dining room, the counter, and the card room behind it, in pictures.

Both rooms

Dining room to card room

Our card room mid-evening, all four tables lit and running
A hand of euchre halfway through a round
A table set for the evening, chips already stacked
Tea poured for a table in the dining room before service
Our weatherboard front on Murray Street after dark
Another view of the card room from the counter
The side room, our quieter spot away from the tables
A hand resting beside a small stack of chips mid-game
Coffee and cups set out at the counter for the evening
Behind the pictures

Not much has changed since we opened

We've kept most of the fittings our founder put in, right down to the counter and most of the cane chairs in the side room.

The tables themselves are newer, but we've kept the same low light he liked, because it suits a card table better than anything brighter would.

We're happy for guests to take a photo or two of either room, so long as it doesn't slow the game down for anyone else at the table.

The Counter

Original, still where chips are handed out each night

The Chairs

Cane chairs from the side room's earliest days

The Light

Kept low on purpose, much as it always was
